I like those beefsteaks too. Here in the northeast we're finally seeing lots of flowers and fruit begining to ripen. Tons of plum tomatoes on two plants.
Also have squash, gourds and cucumbers running amok, covering paths and growing up the bean screen (getting ready to plant another crop of these for the fall).
By the way, just watched Mrs. Greenthumb's remedy for slugs - a dish of beer depressed in the ground - at least they drown happy. Anyone have any other ideas about this problem? Found 3!!! on our back stoop by the veggie garden the other night.
