Newfoundland economic growth rate is 4.5%- the highest in Canada. Voisey Bay isn't even factored into this. Newfoundland's natural resources are booming. Seafood sales are well over $1/2 billion from booming crab and shrimp sales along with 35 other species, not including cod fish. Mineral exploration, forestry and an awesome oil industry on the upswing. Information technology is booming. I think there are over 1000 companies exporting out of the province. Newfoundland is even producing the high tech space drum for the next international space station. They were even given a better bond rating this week. So why shouldn't Newfoundland take their time with INCO, they are no longer desperate, Newfoundland is dealing with $40 billion worth of minerals in the ground and it isn't going to swim away. All is needed is this new Japanese government to straighten up their economy ( it represents 70% of asia) combined with a nickel discovery by TECK/Donner and their SVB juniors and this whole thing will turn around overnight.
