Modus Media International Selected By Micron Electronics, Inc. to Provide Supply Chain Management Services
WESTWOOD, Mass., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Modus Media International, Inc. today announced that Micron Electronics, Inc., the third largest direct vendor of personal computers, has selected the company to provide software manufacturing and hardware assembly services in support of Micron's custom PC operations.
Modus Media, a leading global provider of supply chain management services, will provide a solution that involves the manufacture and assembly of more than 350 products and many sub-components to produce Micron PC "shipkits." Shipkits typically contain software, a keyboard and mouse, speakers, documentation and other marketing materials. Modus Media's Lindon, Utah Solution Center will provide software manufacturing services for the program.
Modus Media will also provide value-added services to tightly integrate shipkit production with Micron's CPU manufacturing line. Custom-built Micron computer packages will then be shipped to customers around the globe from Micron's Nampa, Idaho facility. Under this innovative agreement, Micron will own inventory for less than an hour, providing inventory turns that are among the best in the industry.
