ATHM is a particularly poor trading stock. Sawtooth with a gently rising uptrend. Can't trade it long because you don't know it will pop. When it jumps up, the move lasts several days, and then spends the next bunch of weeks dwindling away most of the gains. Can't trade it short because the downside is too slow and choppy. It is the quintessence of buy and hold. There are much better trading vehicles than ATHM. You want to trade in stocks that have a comparatively large ratio of option volume to stock volume. ATHM has a very poor such ratio.
