Paul - I guess that is why Barksdale is self-righteous about the purity of Netscape I think that the need to preserve the Marc Andreesen myth is why Barksdale settled out of court before full deposition - the illusion would have taken a big hit when the other members of the Mosaic design team took the stand. Marc was always best at taking credit... Our tax dollars at work - you are right (if my memory on this is correct) that part of the U of I mosaic development was government funded. As far as the royalty issue from Netscape to Spyglass, you may be right there too, it could have been a lump sum settlement. I have all that detail buried somewhere, maybe I'll dig it up if I get a minute. Thanks for the comments.
