Thu 30 Jul 98 News Release
Mr. Chris Kent reports
PeakSoft has arranged a marketing agreement with RealNetworks (Nasdaq:
RNWK) that makes PeakSoft's PeakJet 2000 web-browsing accelerator available
for sale to millions of RealNetworks' customers through a variety of
marketing efforts.
Through its RealStore located on the web, RealNetworks is offering its
customers two specially customized versions of PeakJet 2000 which include
value added content such as World Wide Web links to top RealPlayer sites
and related resource listings. There will be a new installation version of
PeakJet 2000 for first time users, as well as an upgrade from PeakJet 1.5X
for current users.
PeakJet 2000 is a next-generation web-browsing accelerator that
significantly speeds up any user's Internet experience. Working with either
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 plus or Netscape Navigator 3.0 plus,
PeakJet 2000 makes full use of any Internet connection to look ahead and
preload links into cache and to freshen cached pages, giving users faster
access to the pages they want to see. PeakJet 2000 builds on the
award-winning and innovative technology in PeakJet 1.5, to deliver up to 50
per cent more surfing speed on any speed modem, as well as on ISDN-type
connections.
The announcement of the marketing agreement with Real Networks is part of
PeakSoft's recently begun alliance marketing program. PeakSoft has entered
into a series of marketing partnerships with leading Internet based
companies that seek to meet similar market objectives by delivering
technology that significantly improves a user's web experience. PeakSoft's
recent market alliance partners include RealNetworks, Symantec and Software
Builders International.
