I'm glad you decided to participate as you seem to have good insights. Yes, I was surprised by Coherent's #'s, however, the problem is centered in their medical group though, and primarily related to the sale (or lack thereough) of aethstetic lasers. I think it is more important to look at R&D dollars at Lambda dedicated to DUV not revenue dollars. I think you will find (if you can) that they actually spend more than Cymer. The analogy I would use to explain why second sources are so important is one of your computer. How would you feel if there was only one place to both buy a computer and also get one serviced. What type of prices do you think you will pay for that. Remember from Econ 101 the theory of pricing under inelastic supply. What happpens when your CPU goes down and your service guy is out fishing. I can just about guarantee you that even the Intels of the world are interested in seeing qualified second sources. As to the comment from the analyst on the call, I wouldn't necessarily trust that comment, some of these guys do very cursory work. Thanks for the spirited dialogue. beanman
