micheal, I think the dif in gateway and MU and their systems don't play chess well and bec. their I/S isn't as good as CPQ and cannot
really let them know where they really are at.
remember I kept saying that cpq has all these pc's in the stores and dealers at lower cost on the books already.
By having a model that can do this then when the prices are force to drop then unexpected shocks don't happen. Price protection forces
kickbacks to stores and then prices drop more and it eats inot the plan.
I'm positive that MU and gateway do not know how to do this so now the shocks are hitting them when they simulate the qtr closes.
this will not happen to cpq.
the numbers are in the bag. $2 eps isn't there but the numbers are there.

okay, see why I kept saying that cpq has these sold at lower prices and why that was important....the gateway is the reason.
I repeated it and I guess no one understood what I was saying.
What I need from you is at least you understand the imprtance of this
sales shipment trick.. it really lets you know where you stand and doesn't present shocks.
