Joe, <<... if you were a BILLIONAIRE...>> I think that we should volunteer for "The Great Social Experiment": where each is given a billion dollars, to spend as we wish of course, while the researchers observe and record how it affects our lives. I am not sure what I would do for or with a billion dollars, but it's something to think about.

As for Mr. Ballmer, he certainly has a nice playground where he can play with all sorts of toys that would be hard to duplicate with a mere billion dollars. Also, it's possible that his playground provides a nice platform for his ego. Is he next in line for the throne if Sir William should retire?

Unfortunately, it seems that much of the press has already converted over to "Microsoftism" and religiously reports on Microsoft's every move in the most favorable light. We need objective and well balanced reporting from the press for both Novell and Microsoft. I guess that's pretty obvious though; and impossible.

The following referenced article has a brief comment from a Morgan Stanley analyst.

Novell debuts tool kit to switch clients, servers to IntranetWare
By Maria Seminerio

"...IntranetWare is a crucial part of Novell's strategy for improving its bottom line, according to Chuck Phillips, an analyst at Morgan Stanley & Co., in New York..."
