For an interesting Quantum white paper on Theoretical versus real life MTBF, see quantum.com . They use the traditional explanation: run a large enough sample size and one will fail every MTBF hours. But I believe my explanation was more "accessible", since no one wants to wait 100,000-1,000,000 hours for anything these days. <g>
