Welcome to the Ampex thread. I'm sure that you will find it less stressful and more optimistic than the CAWS thread! (For those who don't follow the CAWS (CAI Wireless) thread, James has been a long time contributor to that thread. Unfortunately, CAWS stock price has dramatically declined over the last six months for a number of reasons and many of the post on that thread are getting ugly). Anyway James, I have been very optimistic on AXC since I bought my first thousand shares at 2-3/8 when it was listed on the pink sheets. That was back before KM was even in the picture. I have since accumulated a bunch more shares, buying all the way up to eleven. Yes, I would have loved to have had that CAWS money here too! Oh well, maybe some day we'll get it back. . . OK, enough welcome babble!
As you probably know, from reading the thread, Ampex has a lot going for it. Many of us on this thread see it as investing in value stock as well as a speculative stock. No, I cannot answer the questions concerning the local feeling, news, community presence, etc., but I sure that somebody who is in AXC's neighborhood can. (I would like to know too.) We do know however, that they are hiring since AXC regularly post employment opportunities on their web site. Check it out: ampex.com .
