This is for everyone who purchases or anticipates purchasing music (CDs) over the Internet. This is research for my dissertation on "How the Internet is changing the strategies of record companies".
The survery is only 15 short questions. Shouldn't take but a minute!

1. Have you purchased music over the Internet in the past 6 mths?
2. What web site did you purchase from? (ex. CDNow, a Custom Compilation CD site)
3. How many CDs have you purchased in the last 6 months? Internet? Traditional record stores?
4. What genres do you purchase, primarily? Choose from: Pop, Dance, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Alternative, Urban.
5. Do you feel secure sending your credit card over the Internet?
6. Do you anticpate regular purchases of music over the next 12-18 months?
7. Do you still visit traditional record stores like Tower or HMV? Why? Why not? please be as specific as you can.
8. Do you download any music direct to you PC or CD-W (specify)?
9. If yes, from what sites?
10. If you could download music easily, direct to your PC or write-able CD, would you?
11. Do you feel that once you own the CD you could send a copy to a friend if they wanted it, without paying for it?
12. When searching for music on the net, where do you begin? Artist search? Record Label search? Music Store (CD Now) search? Other?
13. What other goods do you purchase over the Internet? (ex. books, clothing)
14. When do you think the Web will be integrated into our lives/homes such that your TV=Computer=Stereo? 5 years or less? 5-10 years? 15-20 years? It is all a big dream. Not going to happen in my lifetime?

Interesting about the TV hook-up. We now have the black box to connect the TV to the internet. Cost about $250.00 . Someday it may be built right into the set. Can you imagine the market we can reach if all TV sets can be used to buy music CD's over the internet? Most people I know love music. The future looks promising!
