Actually this condition exists in Peru where Gitennes Resources has a major project on what will eventually be a cheap open pit mine. The hillside sediment will not allow drilling in some brecciated parts of the formation because of quick deformation and collapse, yet tunnels in the same rock are relatively stable!

Will not allow narrow DDH's. But low speed high torque oil rig equipment WILL drill those holes though not cheaply per foot. But it beats not knowing.

If they can mine 2 grams in those tunnels drifts adits crosscuts then there is something to explore at.
