I have never viewed Intel as a growth stock. I have always looked at it as a cyclical, currently in an up cycle. Alas, it is very hard for me to value it any higher than at its historical P/E of about 10. So to buy this stock as a long term investment at its current valuation, would make absolutely no sense to me. The "holding risk" for me is to the downside as I expect it to revert to its historical mean and then some.

I am a contrarian, so the story on Intel is old news to me. I mean everyone owns it, the only thing is how much more money they will throw at it.

Intel will burn up a lot of its free cash reserves in stock buybacks, and future acquisitions to keep the game up; it is the "prima facie" BULL MARKET indicator, and it won't go down easy. The political, and economic considerations will be enormous. Eventually it will be forced to borrow money, right before the bottom falls out.
