Andrew...
I agree 100% with you...especially with the readily available news. I have been investing way before the internet, and if one of my stocks had good or bad recommendations, it could be a week before my broker told me.....sometimes I ran across info in the WSJ....but now shazam....news is e-mailed right to me or my pager if I wish.

I think it is horse crap (mainly because I own a rather large number of CA August options) that a brokerage house downgrades a stock AFTER a crash....and upgrades in the face of overblown valuations.

Also....If anyone tools around the Yahoo Financial Site...Insider trades are now an option for every stock....I think this is horse crap...Shorters use this to scare off weak investors....I checked and all but three of my stocks had insiders registered to sell as of last week.....Well, maybe they have a kid in college, or have to pay taxes, or found the house of their dreams....it doesn't signify a loss of confidence...but shorters use it against the stock.

I don't advocate short, long, or daytrades...I feel one should have different objectives with each investment. Here I go again.....Good luck to you and all others in your in investing..FWIW
