David, David, You are a nice fellow! Why do you hold such strange ideas? "God is Love" (sic)...How absurd! Once upon a time a missionary said to me "God is Love" and so I asked him if his intent in telling me that was to try a convince to become a christian. To which he replied "Amen" So I cut a deal with him, an easy deal. Not a hard deal. My rules. (Marquis of Queensbury rules)..Here they are 1. Don't tell me the who or what about "GOD" in the statement "GOD IS LOVE"...that's Hard. 2. Tell me what "LOVE" is, to meet my requirements and I will become a christian. 2a. If God is that thing "Love" and I use that to say..I love God/I love my wife/I love my sister/I love my cat/I love my car/I love PIZZA/..there is only one "KIND" of love. 2b. English syntax is sufficiently precise that if I say "I love God and I like pizza" then "LOVE" and "LIKE" are different "KINDS" of affectivity. 2c. Since you accuse God of being that "LOVE" the same one which I use for my cat I would suggest a certain degree of care in your definition/reply! Remember its your salvation on the line not mine since the accusation is yours. 3. If you find yourself unable to comply..we can always go to plan "B". 3a. Alternate Plan B, Please tell me what "IS" means. Since you accuse the Almighty of "Being". i.e. capable of "is-ness"/being in the state of "is-ness". I will accept your reply with precision any time. Remember, if you are accusing GOD of being and/or of something its best you be VERY sure of what words you so loosly bandy about! Note; the missionary did not achieve his aim. I am still jewish and I still LOVE God! You of course, are welcome to try and change that! Happy Hannukah jerry
