I don't know if this is going to make any difference in the price of copper, but I read that IBM has managed to develop a process to use copper instead of aluminum in computer chips. Copper is a superior material for chips because it has less resistance so less electricity is wasted as heat. Anyway IBM is supposed to be about 1 year from commercial production.
