Jane, Hmmm... do you discount the "saint-like stature" of St. Thomas Aquinas. Didn't he resurrect the old Greek philosophers? Wasn't Summa Theologica directly influenced by the Socratic method? Or so I've been told. I've also been told that the pagan mind is obsessed with the spirit and uncovering the spirit - "If it moves, worship it!" Surely, they get an "A" for effort. To discount the primitive mind seems almost un-Christian... after all... they were search for the spirit without the guidance of the Living Word. Did I say that I haven't sinned?!? Greg
