Greg-

Not a surge suppressor. Stop buying Dell, stop running your store, right now and go buy a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). A UPS uses incoming electricity to charge a battery, and converts the power from the battery back into AC to run the computer. It does two things:

Smoothes out microfluctuations in your municipal power supply which degrade and eventually eat your computer alive, as well as major spikes which can get past most surge suppressors.

more important, if power goes out, or, more likely, browns out, gives you a minute or two of spare power to shut down your machine in an orderly fashion.

DO NOT RELY ON A SURGE SUPPRESSOR ALONE.

Best,

ER
