airborn - frustration is normal if our assumptions are not validated or supported by the market response. First, we wanted contracts, then we wanted earnings, then we wanted plans for post-2000 business. These companies have done just that. Flood gate has not opened as expected but one after another (SYNT, CBSL, COGIF, ALYD, IMRS, MAST, KEA) report real earnings. Most have a lot of cash on their hands and generating cash by cross-selling services. The street ignores cash? How much cash these internet stocks have? An important capital these companies have (that is in acute shortage) is a group of trained computer programmers. Never underestimate it. Internet stocks? All they have is a lot of debt and no or little sales. Market momentum is in that sector. y2k sector is not in favor if we think we are in y2k sector. View them as body shoppers or software tool company with growing earnings and cash, you get a different picture. Yes, we know that the street believes in their infinite wisdom that all these y2k companies will drop dead after 1/1/2000. In Guerilla Investing, individual investors fight the big institutions with knowledge. We need to hear reports of earnings shortfall due to y2k expenses from Fortune 500 companies. Will it happen? I do not know. If earnings of y2k companies keep growing, they will be bought out for their growth and cash. Many y2k companies have small float too. The street can see that happening. Can they? Ram
