Sig--all I can say is "Amen, brother, amen." There's a strong case to be made for real value.

I have had to learn these facts the hard way. Looking at my portfolio yesterday made me come up with the same conclusion as yours. If I flushed out all the rest of my portfolio except for LU, MSFT, CSCO, and (of course) DELL, it'd be pretty much of a wash. I do have a Dogs of the Dow fund that I bought into and it's made me about 12.7% (price appreciation only--not counting the dividends) for the year so far, which is right in line with my expectations--nothing flashy, just slow and steady.

A friend told me that there is some guy in Smart Money this issue who reduced his holdings to that big four. I'm almost tempted to do the same and then just keep the Dogs for a conservative play and my muni bonds for bedrock income.

BTW--the analysts on CNBC Thurs seemed to be thumping the CPQ drum. Any comments vs. DELL? With DELL challenging for the lead in PC sales, I wonder if that is just more analyst hooplah. Would be interested in hearing comments from others on the thread.

IN DELL WE TRUST!!!!!
