Hello,
I was getting a little carried away... I.E. it is the
desktop that is helping Microsoft take over the world...

Make now mistake... MSFT is moving more onto the Internet
where the REAL money is to be made... I was using the
desktop arena as a arguing point to where NOVELL is going...
I.E. If they don't make a reason to install their software
on the Network or Desktop... They won't exist....
MSFT is using their desktop/OS to control Browsers.... Portals,
etc.... etc.... etc....

The desktop war has been lost.... Microsoft owns it...Unless
someone can come out with something like for example an all
JAVA os... (Sorry, I had to say it...) Even if this is better
than MSFT's products it will still loose until it makes it onto
every PC being sold in Best Buy for example.... So the real
question is if MSFT owns the desktop/OS, and IP network...
What are companies like NOVELL going to do to expand their
niche of products.... If I can purchase PC's and connect
them to the network without NOVELL which I can.... I would
be a very nervous NOVELL stock holder.... What is going
to drive my company to purchase NOVELL products besides the
fact that my network Admin guy is a CNE.... The Novell products
are not NEEDED to support an IP based network.... Plain and
simple.... The NOVELL stock price reflects this... I have been
singing the UNIX/IP network crap since the early 80's...
If watched the UNIX community with a high quality OS argue about
Motif and Open Look.... They Lost their chance with a better
product....

Netware might have millions of windows clients.... I.E. there
still alot of mainframes around, but you don't see me taking
any classes on COBOL.... I.E. where is the market going?
Where does NOVELL fit into the future.... I understand where
NOVELL used to fit in... I don't see where they fit into the
future.... A new CEO comment is not going to change my mind...
See ya at $6/share...
