I suspect Dennis feels comfy--surrounded by non-urgent-minded academic types from Carnegie Tech and a weak board. However, he can't keep rebuffing acquisition approaches(I understand he has received at least a few) if he doesn't make this company more profitable or he risks shareholder suits. If you or anyone else reading this knows people inside the firm, perhaps they can plant that message.
