If the software units of CD which compete with TLC are not actually purchased by TLC, they will at least be separated from CD, ending up with management more concerned with raising software prices. There will no longer be a reason for these companies from CD to sell products at cut-rate prices in order to establish customer relationships or to develop marketing information beneficial to other parts of CD. Whether TLC buys the divisions or someone else buys them, we will be better off.

It might even be possible for TLC to work out a deal with CD in which TLC gets the software companies it wants and CD receives the customer information it wants through TLC.
