I see Murphy still has quite an influence on people. Amazing.

Firstly, AMLN's direct placement was done because they were in desperate need of cash. This was not an investment by a future partner as Murphy speculated.

Secondly, there is *no reason* to believe a new partnership or buyout is imminent (again, contrary to Murphy's comments). AMLN's Phase III data to date has been marginal at best. No potential partner would risk capital without seeing additional data.

Clearly AMLN's future rides on the upcoming Euro results. It's not a pretty picture and shouldn't be spun otherwise.
