How's this for spin....I watched part of the today show this a.m. and Ken Burns (Civil War and Baseball) and he takes the Presidents on Mt. Rushmore and explains whether these presidents could get elected today with the "hyper" vigilant media attention to presidential, uh, foibles. I think the inference was that Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln might not have made the cut perhaps further inferring that Clinton is in their league(gag).....In his discussion with Doris Kearns Goodwin, they lament that we may be destined to have "flattened" cardboard presidents in the future. Imagine that, a president sans personal and political scandal.....what a concept! bp
