I don't know much about Cisco's internal efforts, but I suspect if they bought Summa that might suggest they weren't developing fast enough. Cisco's famous for buying companies to get both people and technology to achieve time to market. Then they leverage it through their strong distribution channels. This is why the SUMA/DLGC workings could have more potential.
