When i first started the page back in '97 i either didn't hear of it's competitors or the ones that were around I was wary of because they could have been fly by night companies and my website could have wound up being a 404 error.... I have stuck with Geocities because they are IMHO considerably faster than the other websites, and i know they will be sticking around XOOM is an excelent site but is not easy for the average person to use because it involves using FTP software... but that's great for large files..... BTW the I prefer the watermark to huge FLASHING BANNERS (yuck!) Fortune City I beleive just increased to 20MB ... very nice and all but the site was already congested and i think it's since slowed even more....
