Yes!! That's my point exactly. The bottom line is that you perceive it to be complex and tedious because you are accustomed to installing apps on Microsoft Windows.

And honestly, installing 10 apps is not as easy as staring at the machine for 45 mins., even if they are all on the same CD. They may get installed, but the user has the recognize where they are and how to start them up.

But it could be done just as easily if the apps were from multiple vendors. Heck, you don't even need the CD. Just load your word processor of choice onto your machine from the network while your favorite credit card gets charged. That doesn't HAVE to be difficult (it just is today, and that's just fine with Microsoft. Why make choices easy when you can get it all from one company?).
