As someone mentioned on this thread earlier today, a bear market will change the public's attitude toward the President and, for that matter Congress too. Nixon was undone following a bear market. A bear market would undo Clinton.

Clinton's troubles do not influence the price of stocks. However I think this administration is one of the most "market conscious" ones I can remember, and it will do all in its power to prevent a bear market crash from occurring before the next Presidential election.Pumping up liquidity and leveraging international relations and currencies to "encourage" foreign investments in US stocks.

I remember reading somewhere ( can't recall source) that banks are starting to really load up on stocks. Just think how much influence the Fed and Treasury have on banks and what clueless investors they seem to be.

Just some thoughts.
