Urlman, CMGI *is* essentially a closed-end mutual fund. Its value consists of the combined value of its investments in other companies. Its direct earnings are negligible in comparison. Why is CBS so off-base, in your opinion, in describing it as such?

It is not, of course, a registered investment trust. But, like BRK, the bulk of its value is in its net asset value as a mutual fund that specializes in Net stocks.

Doug (originally invested in CMGI in November 1995 at split-adjusted $22/share, sold out and invested again in October '96 at split-adjusted $6 ... no position in CMGI at this time)
