Anyone, this is boiling down to these points. First of all is the legal issue. If someone spent all their time and energy trying to remain uncaught illegally manipulating stocks they could do it unless the government spent a huge amount of energy trying to catch them.

That scenario is unlikely and neither the posters care enough to spend that much energy anonymously manipulating; and the government also will only devote only a small amount of its energy trying to catch these people, as it has according to other posts started efforts to do.

Also it is an ethical issue. It is obviously not right to do something like that because everyone knows lying is wrong.

Something I do wonder though. Most people obviously care about their selves more than God(the superior being, not the SI member) so why would people like you expect them to listen to what he has to say about illegal stock manipulation(one of the ten commandments: you shall not lie)Or maybe you expect them to not do such things just to be politically correct, which is to me the peoples definition of right.

As for why I joined SI; I want to listen to what other people think about stocks more than I want to get across messages. Usually when I look at a stocks comments they have nothing to do with a stocks basics and general direction.I mostly ask questions than anything on a stock. This "thread" is actually one of the few exceptions because it is an issue that I have an opinion that I care about unlike number and fact based stocks.
