Pallisard & TMoore: "Commence away?" LOL! Yes indeedy, let's get this train moving. Pallisard, regarding your "never thought Li was that abundant" comment. I went back to one of my books, Nucleosynthesis and Chemical Evolution of Galaxies by Bernard E.J. Pagel and after reviewing a couple of chapters I found I have to modify my prior comments. Clearly I'd lost a few brain cells since my last reading of this book.

The book itself deals with the chemical evolution that has occurred since the Big Bang. A very informative read which basically attempts to determine how the present day chemical composition of galaxies came to be. Particularly since the primordical makeup of the Universe was Hydrogen and Helium(not lithium as I'd stated before). Here's a quote,

"The fragile nuclei of Li, Be and B are very scarce(in the interstellar medium), being destroyed in the harsh environment of stellar interiors, althought some of them may also be created there. On the other hand, they are much more abundant in primary cosmic rays as a result of x-x fusion and spallation reactions between "certain" nuclei at high energies. The latter may also account for the production of some of these species(chemical) in the interstellar medium. Some Li(about 10 percent) also comes from the Big Bang."

So much for today's classroom, heh! Meanwhile, it does appear VLNC is telegraphing some things to us, what with this latest job ad, not to mention the interesting action in the stock on a day when the rest of the market was in melt-down mode. Me think's things are gonna be very interesting come late summer/early fall, eh?

Regards!

John~
