Paul,

RE: "Perhaps you have noticed the problems people are having with
AGP slotted video cards and non-Intel motherboard chipsets
that support K6-2-300 CPU's at 100MHZ?

Well it looks like a typical Intel monopoly tactic. Intel now has
video card chipsets and motherboard chipsets. The I740
graphics chip set appears to be designed to work specifically
with Intel and only Intel motherboard chipsets. Companies such
as SIS and VIA with their competing chipsets appear to have
problems with I740 based graphics adapters under Windows 98"

VIA has a new revision of their 100MHZ MPV3 chipset code name "CE". This eliminates the problem with video cards that use the Intel i740
video chip. Apparently Intel designed the i740 so it wouldn't run right unless it sees the right tight specs of an Intel chipset.
Probably a dirty trick but VIA has compensated. I don't believe mobos that use the Ali Alladin V chipset have this problem.
