It's interesting to note that Buffett started using Berkshire stock instead of cash for recent takeovers. Then again there's that bank, with 48 mil shares of KO which is using it's stock to buy another bank.
About 30 % of the banks stock price is determined by the price of KO stock.

Can anyone explain why KO has run up in price from $55 support (August -Nov 97) ? Why is it a good LT buy now? What has the company done to justify runup in price.??...It is convenient, though, for those (like Buffet & bank) using KO stock as currency to make acquisitions.

I do have a put option positions with prices ranging from $70, $ 75 & $80/strike price placed in various months out to February 99. I don't have the stock, though. What would be a good price to BUY KO?

All comments appreciated,

JO
