How is a Oracle database any more open than a domain based Windows NT
network? Identix alliance with Oracle leaves out most of the worlds
data which is stored on IBM.

Nevertheless, why can't Identix communicate their vision with a
whitepaper? Its totally inexusable not to have one.

Take a look at stock charts of other narrowly focused public security
related companies:

Verisign (VRSN)
Security Dynamics (SDTI)
Checkpoint (CHKPF)

Notice a trend here? There even seems to be doubt whether a total
security solutions company like Network Associates can prosper.

Biometrics is just one aspect of security like encryption,
certificates, firewalls, intrusion detection, etc. Frankly, I don't
understand why the software algorithms developed by a finger sensor
manufacturer like Veridicom can't do the job. They could imbed all
the necessary functions in silicon.
