in Janice's defense (even though i know she does not really need any one to defend her)... 1) you're looking at the CREDENTIAL in ART... the HISTORY part of that is what's important... 2) what are "credentials" anyways... i follow Newt Gingrich's thought on the "Credentialist state of American society" 3) the PhD is the nomenclature in the highest order stating that this person KNOWS HOW TO LEARN... which is most important the PhD in Art History, when taken in its entirety may not carry much weight, but once again, one must go below the surface to discover what the public title (or press release) really means
