Hi Linda:
I sure am glad I checked this thread before sending my app and check to Web St. Thanks to all for taking the time to post these problems. Looks the like Brown & Co. app will be the one returned.
Linda, I'm with you on the option pricing. I'm with Fidelity Spartan, using their FOX+ software. It claims "real-time" option quotes, but as you say, those quotes are only for the CBOE, not the other exchanges. But, when I place an option order, the "last-chance" confirmation screen will include the last/bid/ask for ALL exchanges. More often than not, the price will differ from the CBOE price, and I have to go back to the trade screen to revise my price to reflect the best B/A across all exchanges. Really irritating when the price is moving quickly. However, even on the confirm screen with the "real, no kidding" prices, it leaves out volume info, so it has limitations too.
My opinion? The exchanges and the brokers/MMs don't want us individual investors to have access to TOO much info. It would reduce their ability to control markets and play their little games. As proof, I offer the evidence of how much it costs to have Level II data, and the fact that that info isn't available anywhere except the Nastydeq.
I mean, who do you think you are to demand accurate, timely data? A broker, or what? <VBG>
good trading,
