Do you HONESTLY believe people typing on SI can run stocks up and crush them overnight? Hardly. What it can do, and YAHOO has proven that, is frantic greedy chickens race around after each other buying and selling in a crazed pack can cause temporary eratic swings. Have you ever had a chicken yard and thrown out the salad leavings? jYou have to see it to believe it.
When I see the crowd from YAHOO over here trying to sway the group mind here to buy more overnight I want to puke. The ONLY thing that popped this stock up on four separate times was a re-release of the Digital Living Room conference, which in the long run had zero, I mean zero, effect on anything, unfortunately, and stupid crazy rumors of a bogus merger circulating around YAHOO.
The worst thing about the net is there is no longer a chance to simply invest in a stock and have any logical investment progression ensue.
Smart money buys on earnings 3 quarters down the road. Everyone here is dumping their stock on earnings that AREN'T there since all money has been sunk into developing, advertising and marketing Portico. That's o.k. It's their money, and they can do what they want.
The thing to do is have a net-free zone of stocks where the massive army of day traders with a keyboard and knowledge of chat threads are unable to pass.
I think you're off base here with Ray. Ray has been as up front as anyone could, and has called everything right except the leap he anticipated from 16 to 20.
What? Is Portico totally bogus? Was everyone here just hyping each other? Then the whole thread IS ________. (fill in the blanks as you feel appropriate.)
Maybe the best statement here is that when the blind do follow the blind, all do fall in the ditch.
Be sure any thread you're on is not a line of the blind lead by a blind man.
I sure don't think that was happening here, and especially not by Ray Rueb. Like Warren Buffett said when asked if a stock was going up or down. His reply: "The market will fluctuate." (thanks due D.M.)
Yes, there could be a major burn going on here, or a one week dump by a group of idiots which affect a quick dip.
Actually, in a stock about all you can do is sell and regret it, sell and feel happy it wasn't worse, or wait a week or so and see where it goes.
This is not a happy situation, except for those in at 3 or 4. They are still clearly in the black on this. But blaming them for the slump? I don't think that's possible in the real world. |
