Thanks for your thoughtful post.

Many SIers don't realize that I don't just BUY and HOLD; I hedge my positions with options. Thus I have been able to benefit from most ST/IT fluctuations as well as the long-term growth of my core holdings.

PS: I do think trading in and out of a large cap stock (that's mostly what I own) and scalping for a couple of dollars is high-risk and unwise; I prefer to play it with LEAPS options--less $$$ exposure and more leverage. But you'd need to exercise a higher level of confidence and correctness in judgement, without a doubt. <g>
