Twister, you know darn well that many factors could have influenced Schwab's decision. Possibilities include:

(1) They already HAVE the hardware, so a switch to NT is cheaper than a switch to JavaTerminals for the installed base. That says nothing about how they'll migrate going forward.

(2) NT is a stopgap measure to allow them to circumvent some of Window's shortcomings (until they're able to deploy JavaTerminals?).

(3) They got a helluva deal from MSoft.

(4) They made a bad decision! (It happens!)

I have no clue whether any of the above are the true reason, but none of the information before us precludes any of them. The only way any of us (you included) could know the reason for their decision is if they were to step forward and candidly tell us, which I doubt will happen. You are trying to make entirely too much of too little information.

You should also know darn well that a failure of those of us who monitor this thread to respond to your postings can't be taken as acceptance of your premises or evasion of any duty -- we owe you no duty. In my own case, it's more a question of tuning you out because I haven't seen much value in your postings. But post away -- the contrarian in me would be concerned if this thread turned into a SUNW love-fest.

JMHO. Not intended as investment advice.
