I do not know what all the factors are in deciding when to declare a stock split. I do know that DELL management would not go to the trouble of getting a split authorized if they did not intend to split.

My take on it is that the stock will split to 60 or 70. But it has split down to 55 in the past. DELL is on a powerful winning streak currently and there is nothing discernible on the horizon to change this fact.
