Just a another opinion from The Bull Market Report: $$$$$ NEWS FLASH - ASCEND BUYING STRATUS ASCEND COMMUNICATIONS INC (ASND) plans to acquire STRATUS COMPUTER INC, next week. Stratus makes fail-safe computers that are principally used by phone operators, to handle the massive task of switching millions of phone calls, and by banks, in processing automated teller machine (ATM) transactions. The deal would be completed through an exchange of stock valued at about $800 million. COMMENT: Wall Street didn't like this news. Ascend was down $7 to the $44 « level. What do we think? We like Ascend and think this is an aggressive move on their part to become an even bigger player in the networking business. However, they don't have great success in assimilating companies they have bought: The Cascade purchase took them 15 months to sort it out. We are looking for $60 a share by early next year.
