Bill - Re: "More and more people are buying items that resemble the Gucci and KKlein stuff as they realize the inflated price buys nothing but me,bership in a public herd "
Comrade Jackson,
In the perfect world you describe, all of us will be equals - there will be no need to work, to invest, to grapple for the filthy pecuniary rewards that mark the decline of the decadent society of the west.
Corrupt companies such as Intel will be taken over by the state which will run them vastly more efficiently than money-grubbing capitalists. Intel's factories will be torn asunder, their quality will be discontinued, their name tossed upon the trash heap - to take its place with AMD.
Yes Comradski Jackson, in a perfect society there will be only one microprocessor and it will be made by the state and the elimination of choices for the masses will render the masses free to pursue goals of the state - and not the betterment of one's fortune over that of another.
All processors, Komrade, will run at the same speed - slow - lest one person gain an advantage over another.
And processors, Komrade, will not be sold - but given away for free - no one should profit from the sale of necessary items that are critical to perpetuating the State.
Uniform processors, all equal, all the same, indistinguishable from one another, will eliminate choices, resulting in efficiencies that cannot even be imagined. Workers of the state will no longer have to befuddle their minds trying to divine means and methods to outdo the competition - competition will be eliminated - indeed, outlawed - along with choices.
Yes Komrade Billski, a perfect world awaits us when all choices, all differentiators are eliminated. We will dress alike, work alike. think alike, and compute alike.
None of us better than another, none of us worse than another.
A perfect world for all time.
