I am sad to say that I am a mere running dog of capitalist lackeys,and I am infected with capitalism and do not buy your monopoli-speek as I resist socialism.

What I say is the currency of a brand is often false and useless. What make CC undies and better than fruit of the loom undies? Same for all that yuppie branded stuff where 90% of the cost is advertising and ten % is product cost.

Intel makes a product and is trying to make it a unique brand linked item instead of truly competing with AMD. If it was unafraid it would not make the fakery that is slot one, it would tend to its work and make processors and let them compete on merit. Instead it tries to instill a brand consciousness. There is no real difference between the MMX processors from AMD and Intel as long as we are socket 7 based, so the only way to preferentially sell them is by abusive commercial practices(that they have been caught at many time) and marketing practices which they are good at. A marketing practice is just as abusive of monopoly power as threats to cut off Compaq from CPUs unless they buy all Intel.

So shove that commie stuff where there is no sun, as the sun has set on that concept. The heavy handed actions by Intel look and feel like a socialist dictators typical actions in trying to eliminate all competition. Any socialists in Intel?,
