e, It looks like you will buy two 56K modems--one to connect to a specific phone number that uses ASND's MAX-8 (Rockwell based), the other to a different phone number which uses the Total control from USRobotics (uses TI DSP but its won code). Obviously, this will force ISPs to buy two type of equipments. Users will only choose one for the time being....... T.J.
