To All, Ramblings: 1. Tandy is closing 53 McDuff Stores due to "increasing saturation in the personal computer market." Those who don't know them, they are an electronics chain in Texas and other Southwestern states. Tandy will sell the inventory at going out of business prices at Inedible Universe and Computer City and Radio Shack. 2. Neurogen's deal with Pfizer was extended two more years and PFE gave NRGN a $10 million deal to conduct research. I have no idea why the stock would decline on this news. It is great news. 3. MUEI is lowering prices on its servers due to the great business market. -g- 4. Compaq just placed a $1 billion order for LCDs with Lucky Goldstar. This answers one question and again raises another. First, for those MU bulls who say the Korean firms will crumble with DRAM price drops and their huge capacity spending, they have to realize that these are HUGE cos. with lots of other sources of revenues and profits. Not so for the Boise Bandits. And, once again, how can Compaq compete with Toshiba in laptops when they outsource important components? The answer is that they cannot and that is why Toshiba continues to take away market share. 5. Again, this isn't THE Big One, but it is A big one. Good luck, MB
