New Yorker installed Apple servers and gained $4 mln/yr

As AAPL moves toward higher revenue "network centric" marketing , the New Yorker Magazine's results from Soup's link are worth reviewing:

" In facilitating workflow throughout the organization, the
magazine uses a host of Apple technologies, including
AppleScript to compress imaging files and copy them to
Jukebox, Apple Remote Access to allow editors and writers to
work outside the office, FileMaker to track assignments and
manage databases, and AppleShare to manage some 18 Apple
servers. Such efficiencies have had a positive impact on the
bottom line.

"We paid back our initial costs to build the imaging center in
less than a year," says Older. "The savings in production,
typesetting, and layout and in the imaging center are in excess
of $4 million a year.

Macintosh is an investment that has paid back royally."

A unsolicited testimonial from a internationally known customer saving $4 mnl per year by using Apple Computer products .
