We beat this one to death back in april on yahoo.

- bottom predominately made into petroleum coke and asphalt. Coke used to fuel old utilities.

- modern refineries gasify coke into syngas (H2/CO). The syngas can be used to make electricity (it burns), or other products like fertilizer and hydrogen. Of course our favorite other product is syndiesel made from a rntk reactor downstream of a gasifier.

RNTK is off the radar screen with other natural gas to liquids processes. Cobalt is the catalyst of choice for that conversion for many reasons I have mentioned in the past. I also say this because I recently met with Purvin & Gurtz and asked them about GTL. They are a world famous marketing analysis company and were recently hired by Syntroleum to do a marketing study. I asked them what they thought of rntk. They said they had heard that name somewhere but had not studied their process (they were not in the study). I asked if refinery bottoms conversion was studied. He said no. I asked what he thought about GTL in general going forward - he said need $25/bbl oil and that they were sceptical about capital cost estimates quoted by companies.

The bottoms thing is new and I think Tx has a great angle on it. Forget GTL on natural gas IMOHO as always.
