When I think about it, we really know very little about how the funds and cash are handled. Deswell is a holding company with Subsidiaries. Does each subsidiary keep it's own bank account or are the Funds kept in a central Deswell account? Employees of Jetcrown receive pay from Jetcrown, Kwanasia, Kwanta, but which employees are on Deswell's payroll. I read thru the report and there's very little breakdown of the composite.

I started tracking VTech's stock a while back as I was interested in buying. I missed out. In the last 2-3 weeks it has moved from the 28 range to 35 ($HK). Indicates some optimism for their future.

The interesting items out of HK/China this morning included a report that says non-performing loans (NPL) of Asian banks may cause numerous banks to collapse. Hong Kong banks have less than 10% NPL that will only cause some lower earnings. This follows reports about the tremendous number of bankruptcies in Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN countries. Another report about IPOs failing.

Are you familiar with an economist called Schlumpter(sp?)? In an interview with Galbraith, he referred to the 'Schlumpter Effect' on what's happening in Asia and says that we will likely see the same thing here in coming months.
